  • Cheshire Army Cadet Force help S4V raise funds

The Crewe and Winsford ACF lead by Captain A Webster and Company Sergeant Major Webster organised their detachment to support S4V last Bank holiday weekend. The weekend was a smash hit with the troops being divided between Morrisons in Winsford for a bag pack and helping out with our stall at the Northwich Carnival.

At the Carnival we were next to the Army Careers stand that boasted an inflatable assault course which proved popular with the cadets, children  and parents alike. We had an information stand and a tombola. We also had a raffle with the prize being a Golf day for four at the Portal Hotel, Tarporley. This was drawn last Tuesday and the lucky winner was a Mr Mc Gee. Well done and we hope you enjoy your day.

Then half way through the day the cadets at Northwich swapped with those at Winsford so they all had lots of fun and a great experience dealing with members of the public. We raised a massive £1053.00 and we would like to thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you again soon.

  • This weekend see our New Brochures at Northwich Carnival

We've just received our new brochure which looks fantastic. We mention Veterans in Action which is a great charity. This was founded and run by some mates of mine who are great guys.

You will be able to view our brochure on our website electronically soon, once I get my NVQ level 2 IT knowledge sorted. I'll even post it on Facebook. On second thoughts, I guess you won't want to wait that long so I'll ask Matt, our IT Whizz to do it for me.
  • Hero Amputee Joins Sanctuary for Veterans Launch

Just how do you put your life back together when, as a superfit, healthy and highly trained solider you wake up from a coma to find you’ve lost your legs and the surgeons are contemplating removing your badly mangled arm. This was Rick Clement’s toughest ever challenge after finding himself on the brink of death having stepped on an IED whilst on patrol in Afghanistan last year. For most of us, it’s a question that we (thankfully) never have to contemplate. It is a question that Rick has faced with the help of his beautiful wife Leanne, (whom he married last month) and friends as he has fought his way back to health and proudly joined a new charity, Sanctuary for Veterans, at their first ever fundraising ball this week.

  • Artist's Impression of Site

Our fantastic Architects have provided an Artist's Impression of how the site may look.

The 30 'Canadian' style lodges will be of luxurious standards.  As you can see they will be surrounding the 'State of the Art' Centre of Excellence.

  • Charity Status

We have been working closely with the Charities Commission to change Sanctuary for Veterans from a Community Interest Company to full charitable status.

We have received an "in principle" decision and are very close to obtaining formal approval having recently lodged documentation with Companies House.?

  • Chef In My Kitchen

Joe successfully bid through 3D Financial Management for a Chef in my Kitchen experience at the Red Nose event on 18 March.

This is a fantastic idea from CIMK where they auctioned off a dinner party in your own home where everything from crockery and cutlery to food and table decorations are provided. All Joe and his family will have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.  Wow – no cooking, no clearing up and best of all no washing up.

We will let you know when this will be taking place and post the pics.

  • Fund Raising

Our efforts have so far raised £1750.

The first of our fund raising events kicked off at the Manchester City V’s Notts County match on 20 February 2011.

This was followed the next week end when we had a team of bag packers working at Tesco in Chester.
